Look East is a healthy living and general interest magazine designed by Michael Lush and myself in Journ 323, the magazine design class. We had 16 weeks to come up with a concept; plan, research, and write our articles; direct photo shoots; and produce our magazine. Our biggest problem was that not only did we have opposite tastes, but also had completely opposite schedules. All in all, we pulled it off. Planning and communication were key.
I wrote the summary decks and produced the all the pages included in this abbreviated version except the table of contents and the music reviews. I learned the challenges of content creation, graphics collaboration, art direction, and professional press preparation.
